When & Where

Saturday, 3rd May 2025 at Restaurante Patinhos Eventos.

Weather

The weather in Figueira should be good in May; we are hoping for sunny blue skies and temperatures just below 20°C.
However, they can drop closer to 10°C at night and it could rain, so better bring a jacket, just in case!

Getting there

The venue is between Figueira da Foz and Coimbra, in Portugal. The nearest airports are either Porto or Lisbon. Unfortunately, they are about 200km away, so either driving or taking a train is required.

For trains, there is a direct line from both Porto or Lisbon to Coimbra, tickets can be bought at cp.pt.
Driving is probably the easiest way of travel, let us know if you need any help renting a car or planning the trip.

Accommodation

We recommend you stay in Figueira da Foz, we'll provide transport from there to the venue.
Coimbra is also a great place to stay, it's the biggest city nearby and is at a similar distance from the restaurant.

Hotel wise we suggest either Malibu, if you want a relaxing time with a pool, or B&B, if you'd rather be next to restaurants and night-life.

Restaurants

Food is great in Portugal, especially fish and seafood (like octopus). Some other traditional things to try are francesinha, leitão, frango asado, picanha... Here are some restaurant recommendations of places to try around Figueira.

Caçarola Dois is great if you're looking for nice food near the city center, especially seafood. For a more cosy atmosphere with amazing food, we recommend Tás CÁ Dentro. If you're looking for a Portuguese specialty, we really recommend you try the Leitão at Forninho! If you have a car, don't miss the "sopa da pedra" from Peleiro.
For breakfast, you could try Santa Maria or Dionisio.

Sightseeing

In Figueira, enjoy a walk in the city center or around the seafront. If we are lucky and the weather is good, head over to the beach at Praia do Forte or take the boat to Cabedelo.

If you're planning to spend a couple days, there are a few cities nearby worth visiting. Both Lisbon and Porto are great, but closer to Figueira you could visit Coimbra. It's a very charming and picturesque city, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe! You could also go to Aveiro, a coastal town with colorful houses and delicious pastries.

Nightlife

Figueira is not crazy on nightlife, but if you want to have a late drink, most bars are around Figueira's Casino.
